Located in Cadiz, KY, cake artists Verna and son Steve Chlupsa have since 1997 specialized in creating cakes custom designed to reflect the Bride’s personal taste and style. No two cakes are alike- you can rest assured that no other bride will have “your cake”. We work in a 1200 square foot bakery space that is fully licensed, inspected, and insured. (No Grandma's kitchen here!)
The Cake Artist offers the finest in traditional handcrafted European style wedding cakes with high-end decorating to match. Each cake is made with the finest, freshest ingredients to insure that the taste matches the appearance. The Cake Artist is renowned for flawless buttercream icing, cakes with moist, fine texture and melt in your mouth flavor.
The Cake Artist does offer rolled fondant-but most brides forget about fondant once they see our stunning buttercream. We challenge any artist in the country to match our perfect icing! If fruit or other fillings are desired they can be provided.
High level techniques such as HAND MADE (not store bought) gumpaste flowers, fondant pleating and draping, metallic colors, 3 dimensional sculpture, royal icing stencil and airbrush work are available. This level of artistry is rarely seen except from professionals in larger cities who charge very premium prices! The Cake Artist is the only one in the area to offer many of these techniques- at a LOWER COST than most others in the area.
The Cake Artist's cakes are priced from $3.40 per serving for buttercream or $4.40 per serving for fondant covered cakes. This INCLUDES plating and most decorating! The only extra fees are for extensive flower or sculpture work.
The final price is determined by the design complexity and of course the number of servings. Delivery fees are additional and are determined by the distance and set-up requirements. Scheduling a consultation will assist you in determining final cake cost. Gold, silver and custom wood cake plateaus are available for rental.
Ordering your cake 3 to 6 months in advance is highly recommended, as reservations are taken on a 1st come- 1st served basis! A $100 deposit is required to secure your date at the time of your consultation. Final design changes and payments are due 4 weeks prior to your event.
